Outcome of public consultation for Worfield CE Primary School to become an academy and join Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust.
10th September 2024
Dear Parent/Carer,
Consultation to convert Worfield Endowed CE Primary School to an Academy and join Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust
On the 5th June 2024 the Governors of The Trinity Federation published a formal consultation on the proposal to convert to academy status and join Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust.
The consultation period ran from 5th June to 16th July 2024 – a period of 6 weeks. The consultation was coordinated across all seven of the schools who are considering voluntary conversion to form the founding group of the new Trust.
The governors are grateful to all of the parents and other stakeholders who took the time to attend the consultation meeting(s) and/or respond in writing.
The comments made and questions asked were helpful in supporting the governors’ thinking and in giving them a clear understanding of the views of their stakeholders concerning the proposal.
Following the close of the consultation period, the Governors of the Trinity Federation considered a report on their consultation at their Extraordinary Full Governing Body meeting held on 2nd September 2024.
Following consideration of the consultation report, it was agreed that the governors will continue with their due diligence in respect of the proposal to convert to an academy and join Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust. You can read a report in full by clicking the link below this letter.
Governors will now work with Mrs Gaskin, Executive Headteacher for The Trinity Federation and Interim CEO for Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust, to continue their due diligence. It is anticipated that the new Trust will be formed on 1st November 2024.
Once due diligence has been completed the governors will make a final decision as a Full Governing Body as to whether to convert or not. This will then be communicated to parents/carers.
Yours sincerely,
Carl Steventon
Chair of Governors
